My folks were always into good food, and I raised my two giant boys with that same appreciation; one of my favorite memories is my mom and dad's sweet corn right from the garden and barbequed salmon right from Puget Sound. My folks were totally into fresh, beautiful food and loved feeding people and throwing parties, and I'm the same way. I've been cooking for as long as I could stand at the stove, and the longer I do it the more I realize that when you understand food you can always make something good. When you know how food works, you'll never go hungry or suffer through cardboard pizza again.

That's what The Pantry Raid is all about; I want people to embrace food and feel comfortable making a meal with what's on hand. I mean, besides air and water, what's more important than delicious grub? It's totally rewarding to be able to open your cupboards and pull together an awesome dinner without having to stress out about it. In my twenty-plus years on TV and radio in Seattle, there've been many nights when I've had to do just that. On The Pantry Raid I'll show you how to make a good meal with whatever you have on hand, and have fun doing it!
